Description

W.H. Throne (b.1838 - d.1892) was born on October 25, 1838 in Spring Garden Township, Pennsylvania. His full name was William Henry Throne. He was the son of John Throne, born in Pennsylvania in 1812, and Mary Throne, born in Pennsylvania in 1812. Early censuses record surname as "Trone". 

W.H. moved to Kansas where he learned the skills of carpenter and millwright. He then emigrated to Prescott, Arizona where he engaged in business for himseld as a member of the firm of Brecht and Throne, blacksmiths and wagon makers.

W.H. married Lanora Baer on December 11, 1883 in Prescott. They had five children.

At the time of his death, W.H. left considerable property. In addition to his interests in Prescott (Dolly Ranch), he left a valuable fruit ranch near Napa, California. 

He was a member of the Masons, Odd Fellows (past Grand Master) and member of Ivanhoe Cammandary Knights templar.

Handwriting on photograph reads: "W.H. Throne-member of the firm of Brecht and Throne-blacksmiths and wagon makers, also early owners of what in known as the Dolly Ranch-Mr. Throne's home is now known as the Stringfield house on West Gurley."

W.H. died on July 10,1892 in Prescott. He was buried in the IOOF Cemetery there.
