Mulford Winsor (b. 1874 - d. 1956) was born on May 31, 1873 in Wabaunsee, Kansas. His parents were C.H. Winsor, born in Kentucky in 1839 and M. Winsor, born in New York in 1840.
After high school in Kansas, Mulford moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1892 and then on to Yuma. He founded the Yuma Sun newspaper in1896 after working on several newspapers around Arizona.
Mulford married Clara Bratmer Brown on December 25, 1903 in Pima Territory, Arizona. They had two daughters.
In February, 1912 Mulford was appointed by Governor Hunt of Arizona to be his private secretary.
Mulford was Arizona state Senator from Yuma from 1916-1920 and 1922-1928. He was President of the state Senate from 1923-1928.
He entered the race for the Demorcratic nomination for Governor of Arizona in March, 1920. He was unsuccessful.
In July, 1926 Mulford, while President of the Arizona state Senate, announced he was withdrawing from the race for the Democratic nomination for Congress.
Handwriting on photograph reads: "To pleasant association, your friend, Mulford Winsor."
Mulford died on November 5, 1956 in Phoenix. He is buried at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma.
