The Fossil Creek Project was the title given to the building of the Childs Power Plant, built in 1909, and the Irving Power Plant, built in 1915, both on Fossil Creek in Arizona. The Arizona Republic reported in March, 1915 that "Formal application of the Arizona Power Company for permission to issue bonds and notes for construction of a second power plant (Irving) on Fossil Creek in Yavapai County was filed in 1915. The Arizona Power Company supplied Prescott, Jerome, Mayer, Humboldt, Clarkdale and several other mining camps with electric power...It is planned to start work on the new plant April 1st and to have it completed ten months from that date".
