Gertrude May Stothers Hale Taylor (b. 1878 – d. 1958) was born May 28, 1878 in San Francisco, California and died April 29, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the birth daughter of Ralph Stothers and Maude Price and was adopted by Leonard Fisher Hale (b. 1855 – d. 1909) after his marriage to her mother Maude “Maggie” Price (b. 1862 – d. 1917).
Maude was married three times. She first married Paul Theodore Schad in San Francisco, California and was divorced by him May 5, 1892 (cause: desertion). She then married Ralph Stothers May 28, 1876 in San Francisco. Her third marriage was to Leonard Fisher Hale, April 27, 1892, in Yavapai County, Arizona. Leonard died by gunshot suicide at their home on North McCormick Street in Prescott, Arizona on May 17, 1909.
Leonard was a native of Foxcroft, Maine; he came to Prescott in 1874 and was a businessman. His business pursuits included a café, extensive mining interests (including the Congress Extension mine) and was a member of the firm of Hale and Prior. Maude died May 30, 1917 in Prescott.
Gertrude married Albert Edward Taylor (b. 1874 – d. 1936) on March 30, 1898 in Prescott, Arizona. They had one son, Leonard Hale Taylor born April 16, 1900 in Kansas City, Kansas. He died November 24, 1994 in Missouri.
