Description

Emmett T. Anderson (b.1890 - d.1969) was born on January 17, 1890 in Tacoma, Washington.

He was the President and Manager of the Anderson Printing Company in Tacoma. He served as the Lieutenent Governor of Washington from1953-1957.

Emmett was the Grand Exalted Ruler of the Elks (Benevelent and Protective Order of Elks-BPOE). He was the guest speaker at the Arizona BPOE banquet in Phoenix on September 20, 1949. He praised the Arizona BPOE for raising $28,000 for charity in 1948, one of the Elks greatest records for charitable fundraising. He also offered praise to the Arizona Elks for establishing the only tuberculosis hospital for its members. The 50-bed facility  was located in Tucson.

Handwriting on photograph reads: "Emmett T. Anderson, 1949. Grand Exalted Ruler of the Elks. He visited Prescott for Elks events from Tacoma, Washington". Could not locate information confirming his visit to Prescott.

Emmett died on March 20, 1969 in Tacoma. He is buried in the Tacoma Cemetery.
