Description

Lyle Abbott (b.1891 - d.1969) was born in Topeka, Kansas on September 27, 1891. He was the son of John W. Abbott, born in Kansas in March, 1865 and Louisa (Smith) Abbott, born in Topeka, Kansas in July, 1869.

Lyle married Mary M. Milnes, of Prescott, Arizona on October 25, 1916.

Lyle served in the U.S. Army in 1917 during World War I. His draft registration card stated he was a "newspaper man".

Lyle was the news editor of The Arizona Republican in Phoenix and then the co-owner and editor of the Prescott Weekly Journal-Miner.

He is listed on the Arizona, Yavapai County, Voting Records, from 1920-1928.

Handwriting on photograph reads: "Lyle Abbott, 1923. Associate editor of Journal-Miner".

Lyle died on October 4, 1969 in Riverside, California. No burial information fournd.
