Description

Levi Schantz Young (b.1910 - d.1986) was born on April 11, 1910 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the son of Fred Young, born in Indiana in 1881 and Dena (Schantz) Young, born in Maryland in 1880.

The US Census' of 1910-1940 in  Maricopa County, Arizona lists Levi as a resident. The US 1950 Census lists him as a resident of Eureka, California.

He registered for the World War II draft on October 16, 1940.

Levi married Opal F. Foster on June 25, 1936 in Phoenix. They had one daughter.

Handwriting on back of photograph reads: "Levi Young Family and father at old Carter Ranch". Levi may have been the photographer. Also, in the photograph are Sharlot Hall (standing 2nd from the right) and James Hall (Sharlot's father, seated in front of her).

Levi died on March 21, 1986. He is buried at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix.
