Description

Harry Clark Storey (b. 1862 – d. 1921) was born in Wisconsin. His parents were Clark M. Storey and Mary E. McDonald. His future wife Mary “Molly” Swisher Storey. (b. 1865 – d. 1954) was born in Pennsylvania on August 26, 1865.

Harry or “Dick,” as he was called, held various positions on the old Santa Fe, Phoenix & Prescott Railroad Compnay until its reorganization in spring 1921. He was sent to Arizona from the coastal lines in California. He was a 25-year resident of Prescott and was in continuous service. At the time of his death, he carried the title, assistant superintendent of the Phoenix Division. He was trustee of Prescott Elks Lodge. Around 1910, he was exalted ruler for two terms. He died in a terrible rail car train accident near Wickenburg, Arizona on November 22, 1921.

His wife Mary "Molly" (Swisher) Storey was a charter member of the Prescott Elks Ladies. They had two daughters: Margaret “Margie” (b. 1899 – d. 1987) and Mildred “Mil” (b. 1901 – d. 1989). Molly died on July 13, 1954 and is buried at Mountain View Cemetery. Molly is honored in the Sharlot Hall Museum Territorial Women’s Memorial Rose Garden.

The back of the photograph carries the handwritten note: "Mr H. C. Storey, c. 1900, Supervisor of Santa Fe, Phoenix & Prescott Railroad Company.
