Description

Kate (Katie) D. Coughran (b. 1869 – 1915) was born January 1869, in Arkansas. She was the daughter of Captain James Wesley Coughran and Nancy G. (Brown) Chow, pioneer residents of Skull Valley, Arizona. In addition to her parents, she was survived by brothers: Edward H., Wilbur Warren, Robert William, James Wiley and Charles E. and a sister, Mrs. Mary Lena (Coughran) Sears of Miami, Arizona. Her father was a Civil War veteran.

By the 1910 Census she is shown living in Skull Valley, Arizona. She was a public school teacher in Yavapai County for over a quarter of a century. She died April 11, 1915 of an appendicitis at the Humboldt Hospital, Humboldt, Arizona and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona.
