Description

George C. Waddell (b. 1850 – d. 1921) was born March 5, 1850 in New York. At age 4 he was living in Warren, New York.

He died February 20, 1921 in Prescott, Arizona and was buried February 25, 1921 in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. His business partner, E. J. Bennett, attested to “Personal and Statistical Particulars” on his death certificate.

He is shown as registered to vote in Yavapai County starting in 1890 through 1908. His Arizona occupation was as a miner. He filed a mining claim 1/1/1890 at Rawson in the Hassayampa Mining District. The 1920 ARIZONA Cenus shows that he was living in the Cottonwood Precinct and was a miner, copper mine.

Handwritten Information from back of photograph:  “Kept store at the Tiger Mine with E. J. Bennett.  Store was next door to Minnie Givens (sp?) boarding house.  Under-Sheriff of Yavapai.”

The child is not identified.
