Description

This photograph carries a number of handwritten names, one of which is Miss Wade, and the photograph was originally titled “Miss Wade and Group.”

It appears that this is Edna Mary Sheehan Wade (b. 1876 – d. 1968) who was born November 14, 1876 in Greenwood, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Patrick Sheehan (b. 1847) and Caroline Amelia Mead (b. 1851 – d. 1940). She died May 21, 1968 at the Yavapai Community Hospital, Prescott, Arizona. On December 5, 1901, she married Theodore Henry Wade (b. March 10, 1870 – d. July 5, 1962) in Prescott, Arizona. The 1920 census shows she and her husband living in Clarkdale, Arizona which is a mining area and that he was a pumpman, smelter; occupations associated with mining.

Her Prescott Courier obituary dated May 22, 1968 indicates she moved to Arizona in 1893. Until 1941, she lived in the areas of Prescott and Clarkdale, when she then moved to Phoenix. She was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Hallier of Prescott and Miss Doris Wade of Phoenix. She is buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

The back of the photograph identifies some of people pictured. Front row: #5 (counting from the left) Della Burge (Mrs. Cook), #6 Rose Matthews, #7 Mrs. Mead (Tom McMahn's sister), #9 Ella Morrell, #10 Carrie Rudy, #11 Fritz Verethaller, #13 Miss Wade, #14 Tillie Radczewsky, #15 Nute Morrell.
