Description

Brigadier General Charles C.Walcutt Jr. (b. 1861 - d. 1946) was born on June 20, 1861 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of Brigadier General Charles C. Walcutt, born in Columbus, Ohio on February 12, 1838 and Phoebe (Neill) Walcutt, born in Ireland. His father was a Brigadier General who served with the Union army and saw many battles during the US Civil War.

Charles, Jr. was the grandson of a 1812 war veteran and the great-grandson of a Revolutionary War soldier.

Charles, Jr was himself a veteran of the Spanish American War and World War I.

He married Julia duPont Crofton.

Charles' nomination for Brigadier General was submitted to the US Senate by President Wilson on June 29, 1918.

Handwriting on photograph reads: "Brig.Gen. Walcutt, over 80 years old".

He died on December 17, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio.

He and his wife are buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
