Thomas H. Short (b.1831 - d.1909) was born in Dallas, Alabama on January 28, 1831. His parents, names unknown, were born in Georgia.
Thomas married Margaret Overton on December 5, 1854 in Baldwin, Alabama. They had nine children.
He served in the US Civil War in the First Cavalry in Texas in 1864.
Thomas bought land in New Mexico in 1899. The1900 US Census in Alamogordo, New Mexico shows Thomas living there as a rancher.
He died on February 23, 1909 in Carrizozo, New Mexico. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
