John B. Sattes (b. 1845 - d.1916) was born on January 25, 1845 in Germany. He was the son of John and Mary (Deidman) Sattes, both born in Germany, dates unknown.
John was a miner in Montana. He is listed there on the US Bureau of Land Management Tract Books, circa 1800-1955, in 1883 and from 1892 through 1895. He was a resident of Montana and is listed on the US Census there in 1880, 1900 and 1910.
His brother was Fred Sattes, a resident of Arizona. Fred was the informant listed on John's death certificate.
Handwriting on back of photograph reads: "John B. Sattes, my brother."
John died on February 21, 1916 in Butte, Montana. He is buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Butte.
