The three brothers of the King family, Charles, Tom and Edward, allowed archaeologists to enter and excavate the prehistoric ruins located on the King's Ranch in the 1930s. The ranch was located approximately thirty-five miles northwest of Prescott, Arizona, on the east bank of Chino Creek about 1.5 miles below the mouth of Walnut Creek.
