Photo of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Kitty Hawk (CV-63).

Dennis Stanley Pike of Bagdad, Arizona served on the ship as a Navy pilot during the Vietnam War. On March 23, 1972, Pike's A7E Corsair II aircraft crashed on a combat mission from the Kitty Hawk and he was never found. Pike is listed as missing in action (MIA) and is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Cemetery of the Pacific.
