Photo of Lieutenant Commander Dennis Stanley Pike (b. 1940). Pike was born in Globe, Arizona on July 2, 1940 to Dennis S. and Gladys Hill Pike and grew up in Bagdad. On June 7, 1959 he married Lou Ann Rose. He attended Arizona State University where he served as the Cadet Colonel of the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) detachment and was commissioned a second lieutenant in May 1965. He transferred to the U.S. Navy in November 1967.
On March 23, 1972 Pike was flying a combat mission during the Vietnam War from the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Kitty Hawk when his aircraft crashed and he was forced to eject. He was never located and today he is listed as missing in action (missing in action). This photograph is taken from the Vietnam Wall of Faces.
