Winter scene overlooking the Money Metals Mine, later known as the Yavapai Gold and Silver Mining Company.
The Money Metals Mine was a lead, gold, and silver mine located in Yavapai County, Arizona Territory, at an elevation of 7,402 feet.
The mine was about 1 1/4 miles West of the Poland tunnel and Bigbug Mesa. The deposit was discovered originally in 1897. The mine was purchased by the Yavapai Gold and Silver Company in 1933.
The Mine's major commodities were lead, gold and silver. Workings on the property included a 300-foot shaft, inclined 68° W., together with a total of approximately 1,400 feet of drifts on three levels.
Much of the Money Metals Mine's vein contained about half an ounce of gold per ton. The vein filling consisted of coarse-grained, grayish White quartz with irregular masses, veinlets, and disseminations of galena, sphalerite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite.
Surface equipment on the property included a 20-ton concentrator powered with two Dodge engines. The sulphide concentrates amounted to more than $200 in gold per ton.
