Handwriting on back of the stereograph print says: “Finished on Dec 10, 77 but owing to a wrangle between owners, not started until later - sometime in 1878."
"The mine was discovered in June 1875 by C.E. Beal, Ed Peck, T.M. Alexander, and Wm Bole. It was found by Peck and so, named for him."
The Peck Mine was a silver mine located in Yavapai County, Arizona at an elevation of 5,249 feet. The Peck Silver Mine, was located near Cleator, Arizona, and situated within the Peck Mining District which has now become a part of the Prescott National Forest. This mining site was initially discovered by Edmund G. Peck in the year 1875. The Peck Silver Mine operated as an underground mine and began production in 1875. Its overall output was relatively small. The mining operations mainly involved underground workings, with a single known shaft. It was in production from 1875 until 1948.
