Owners and workers standing at the Blue Bird Mining Camp, Bradshaw Mountains, Yavapai County, Arizona Territory, ca. 1890's. In the photo are Bill Castin, Fritz Verethauler, and Tom Roach, who were the owners/partners in the mine. Other owners included Hugo Richards and W. J. Mulvenon.
The Blue Bird Mine Group was principally a silver and gold mine with secondary yields of zinc, copper and lead. It was located in near the Crown King mining district at an elevation of 2,920 feet. An article excerpt in the January 24, 1905 edition of the Arizona Journal-Miner boasted that "Word has been received in Prescott that a body of ore five feet in width has been encountered recently in the Blue Bird group of mines."
