Description

Water Carriers.

Mules and burros were the de facto transportation of choice back when the rigors of mining ruled the roost. Burros, especially, were most favored by prospectors. They were smaller in size and easier to feed. With their "smaller footprint," they got in and out of  tight spaces easier, such as caves and rock schists. Were they angels on four legs? No. And yes. They matched and/or outdid many of their contemporaries in regards to endurance, weight-carrying capacity, in their ability to carry/pull heavy loads, and to climb sure-footed both steep and deep terrains. In addition, burros and mules had a fairly mild demeanor. Sorta' heavenly.
