John C. Clark (b. 1847 - d. 1905) was born in Ireland and died as a result of cancer of the face about June 24, 1905 in Prescott, Arizona. He is buried in Citizens Cemetery in Prescott. His last name is shown as John C. Clarke in the 1905 Yavapai County Probate Court filing, Case #705 regarding the disposition of his estate.
He was a long time resident and highly respected citizen of Yavapai County and was known to have been the owner of some mining claims that were considered valuable. Supposedly he also had children living in California.
He shows as an Arizona voter in Yavapai County starting in 1882 through 1904.
Newspapers.com issue, November, 1891, shows the John Clark Homestead located as follows: app. #508, SW ¼ pf NE ¼ and NW ¼ of SE ¼ E ½ of SW ¼ Sec. 28, Twp 14, N R 1w. Another reference warns of shooting in his enclosure in Lynx Creek.
Handwritten, on the back of the photograph below his name is "E. B. C."
