Arcosanti, Arizona
"Helen Broyer, art history major from Stanford, at work in the sun, is framed by the distinctive cube buildings with circular openings of the campsite where workers and staff on the Arcosanti project are housed. Helen is one of the students taking part in 6-week construction workshops to build Arcosanti, a city of the future taking shape in Arizona, north of Phoenix. City and campsite are designed by Palolo Soleri, the Italian- born architect whose concepts for future urban living have inspired an entier generation of young optimists."
