A newspaper advertisement for Dr. James Newton McCandless in the Weekly Arizona Miner newspaper.
Dr. James Newton McCandless (b. December 4, 1837, in Butler, Pennsylvania; d. November 25, 1904). He was a graduate in medicine from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and served in the United States Army from 1863 until 1865. He served as medical officer at various frontier outposts including Camp Verde. He lived in Prescott since 1868 until his death.
