Description

 

On June 22, 1927, a fire of undetermined origin consumed the home of mortician Lester Ruffner at 225 South Pleasant Street.  The fire spread quickly, forcing Ruffner and his entire family to flee.  the 12-room house was almost completely destroyed in less than one hour, despite the efforts of the fire department to contain the blaze.
