Description

The house at 128 N. Mt. Vernon is noteworth for two reasons. First, it was built and occupied by Governor Richard E. Sloan (b. 1857 - d. 1933). Sloan was a prominent Arizona attorney whose extensive public service was climaxed by appointment as the last Territorial Governor. The second point is that his home may be the best example of Georgian Revival architecture in Prescott. The design was executed by an architect, Bidwell, who also supervised its construction.
