James Bell Girand bungalow, Pine Crest, Arizona. Back of photo reads: "Summer home of Territorial Engineer, J. B. Girand, Pine Crest, one-half from Yavpai County Court House. Prescott Chamber of Commerce is giving free lots to reputable citiznes who will construct bungalows thereon."
James Bell Girand was Territorial Engineer who oversaw the building of numerous roads and dams throughout Arizona. Historians credit him with development of much of modern Arizona's infrastructure. He died in 1949 and is buried in Phoenix.
