Barney Smith (b. 1853 - d. 1943) was born Barnaby "Barney" Smith on March 7, 1853 in Freetown, Massachusetts. He was the son of Benjamin Smith, born in Massachusettes (date unknown) and Lydia Hathaway, born in Massachusetts (date unknown).
Barney's wife's name was Nellie (Von Gerichten) Smith. They had no children.
He lived in Prescott, Arizona and was a carpenter. Barney was the owner of the Palace Bar. He served as Chair of the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors in Prescott and was a member of the Elks Club.
Handwriting on back of photograph reads: "Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Mr. and Mrs. Barney Smith.1938"
Barney died on September 24, 1943.
Burial in Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
