Description

Barney H. Smith (b.1853 - d.1943) was born Barnaby "Barney" Smith on March 7, 1853, in Freetown, Massachusetts. He was the son of Benjamin Smith, born in Massachusettes (date unknown) and Lydia Hathaway, born in Massachusetts (date unknown).

Barney's wife's name was Nellie (Von Gerichten) Smith.

He lived in Prescott, Arizona and was a carpenter. Barney was the owner of the Palace Bar. He served as Chair of the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors in Prescott and was a member of the Elks club.

Barney died on September 24, 1943.

Burial in Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Benjamin "Ben" Belcher (b.1855 - d.1912) was born on June 29,1855 in Farmington,Maine. His father was Richard Belcher who was a judge on the Maine Supreme Court. His mother is unknown.

He married Frances and they had one son.

Ben was a liquor dealer/merchant in Prescott, Arizona. He spent thousands of dollars on mining development, building of the Palace Hotel, and in contributions and donations given. He was a charter member of the Elks in Prescott and was treasurer for 14 years. He acted as Mayor of Prescott at different times and also sat on the City Council.

Ben died on October 31, 1912 in Prescott.

Burial in Independent Order of Oddfellows Cemetery (IOOF) in Prescott.

Robert "Bob" Brow (b.1857 - d.1909) was born in July, 1857 in Missouri. His father, Jacob Brow, and mother, (name unknown) were born in Switzerland, birthdates unknown.

Bob was a saloon keeper/merchant in Prescott, Arizona.

He married Josephine Barnes in Prescott on March 3, 1907.

He died on September 12, 1909 in Prescott.

Burial at Independent Order of Oddfellows Cemetery in Prescott.
