This home at 128 South Mt. Vernon was built by Levi Bashford, brother of Territorial official Coles Bashford, in 1877. It was purchased in 1898 by attorney Thomas G. Norris, who later modernized it.
Levi Bashford was the original founder in 1868 of the Bashford-Burmister Mercantile Co., which stayed in business in Prescott until the 1940s.
To the left in the photo is the home of Coles Allen Bashford, son of Levi Bashford.
