This photo shows Willie Keegan and Robert "Bob" Connell, Jr. working as young telephone operators at the Wright's Prescott Electric Telephone Company exchange office.
In early 1894, the Wright's Prescott Electric Telephone Company placed poles in the Prescott downtown area and initiated the first public telephone service. Their office and exchange were located at 107 E. Gurley Street.
In 1912, Mountain States Telephone Company, purchased the local company and provided area phone service until Mountain Bell Telephone Company took over in the 1970s.
