Aubrey Howard Gist was born in Moniteau County, Missouri on January 29, 1851 - died in Latham County, Missouri on April 16, 1880.
He was the son of Green White and Henrietta "Etta" Amanda (Scott) Gist was born in Missouri on March 23, 1856 and died in Gainesville, Texas on October 24, 1923.
Aubrey married Sarah "Sallie/Sally" Joyce Sweeten in Uvalde, Texas on October 8, 1899. They had three children: Delia (Gist) Gardner, Aubrey Jay Gist and Susan (Gist) Mayfield.
Aubrey was a rancher and stockman who lived in Arizona for fifty-three years. He owned and operated the Can Springs Ranch in Mojave County, Arizona until 1931 and spent the last fifteen years of his life in Yarnell, Arizona.
Handwriting on back of photograph is: "Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Gist. Aubrey Howard and Sarah 'Sally' Joyce (Sweeten) Gist.
Aubrey Gist was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona."
