Prescott Fire Department procession on Cortez Street in Prescott during the Fourth of July Parade, 1907.
Staffing for the original Prescott Fire Department was comprised of four volunteer companies: Toughs, Dudes, O.K.s, and Mechanics Hooks & Ladders.
In 1885, the city council formalized their support of local volunteer firefighters and created the positions of chief, assistant chief and the body of the fire department.
