Description

The photo shows three of the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors of the 1960s.  From left to right, Marvin E. Rohrer, John Pruitt, Taylor E. Estes.

Taylor Earl Estes (b.1894 - d.1986) was born in Martina Mills, Tennessee on July 27, 1894. He was an Army veteran of the First World War where he spent part of his deployment pursuing Pancho Villa in Mexico.

Taylor moved to Arizona in 1923 and was a miner for the United Verde Copper Company in Jerome, Arizona.  In 1951 he was elected to the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors and served six terms, with three years serving as Chairman of the Board.  He was a member of several civic organizations.

Taylor was married and had two daughters.

Handwriting on back of photograph reads: "County Supervisors. Marvin E. Rohrer, John Pruitt and Taylor E. Estes. All these men members of the Board of Supervisors."

Taylor died while visiting Las Vegas, Nevada on March 11, 1986. He was a resident of Clarkdale, Arizona at the time.

Burial in Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale, Arizona.
