Description

Alvina Potter (b. 1899 - d. 1980) was born Alvina Widstrom on April 5, 1899 in Stockholm, Minnesota. Her parents were Oscar Alfred Widstrom, born in Carver County,  Minnesota on October 2, 1856 and Maria (Asplund) Widstrom, born in Sweden on January 22, 1861.

Alvina married Robert James Potter on May 31, 1920 in Minnesota. They had three children: Inez Mary, James Milton and Beatrice Mae.

The family moved to Arizona and initially settled in the Maricopa/Tempe area. Later, they moved to the Prescott/Walker area.

Alvina was a member of the Sharlot Hall Museum.

In 1964, she wrote a book titled "Many Lives of the Lynx". It told the story of the original settlement of Walker and the mining towns around Lynx Creek.

Handwriting on back of photograph reads: "Alvina Potter".

Alvina died on January 11, 1980 in Prescott. She is buried there in the Mountain View Cemetery.
