Description

Portrait of George Phippen (b. 1915 - d. 1966) at his studio on Meadowridge Road in Prescott, Arizona. Phippen was a renowned Western artist and sculptor from Arizona and the founder of The Cowboy Artists of America. in March 1959, George and his family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado to find more subject matter for making bronze sculptures. However, Colorado proved a disappointment, and in March 1961 he returned to the Prescott area, where he purchased an eleven-acre property in Skull Valley he called the Lone Burro Ranch.
