Description

This is a formal portrait of Margaret "Maggie" Simmons. 

Margaret "Maggie" Ann (Simmons) Dearing (b. 1861 - d. 1945) was born in Kansas on October 2, 1861. She was the daughter of Thomas Wilson Simmons, born in Arkansas on June 26, 1837 and Cynthia Catherine (Hawkins) Simmons, born in Texas (date unknown).  By 1870, the Simmons were living in Prescott, Yavapai County, Arizona Territory.

Maggie married William "Willie" Anderson Dearing on December 24, 1878 in Prescott, Yavpai County, Arizona. Willie was a grocery man. They had six children, including daughter Mary Grace and sons William A., Walter, and Jesse Dearing. One of their sons, Elmer, born in 1882, would unfortunately pass away just one year after his birth.

In 1930, Maggie and Willie moved to National City, San Diego County, California.  Willie pass away on February 10, 1933, in National City.  Maggie coninuted living in National City, but on January 12, 1945 she passed away as well.  Maggie was buried in the Pioneer's Home Cemetery in Prescott.
