Walnut Grove Cemetery looking southeast. The land for a cemetery was deeded to the community of Walnut Grove by William Pierce. The first burial was Franklin Ludwell Pierce, son of William Charles Pierce and Mary Caroline Bursey in March 1887. The cemetery is still in use, though burials are infrequent.
