Description

Nora Wood was the daughter of Ada May Douglas and William Wood, who were born in Kansas.  Their children were Herbert Elmer Wood,  who was born in Williamson Valley, Arizona  and died in the Pioneers Home (b. 1881 - d. 1953); Nora Wood Crosby (b. c. 1876), who later lived in Taft, California; and a son, Wilbur.

Jim is likely Ada's brother and is pictured here with his niece Nora. There is no reason to associate this Jim Douglas with James Douglas (b. 1837 – d. 1918), the founder of Phelps Dodge and the Copper Queen Mine and namesake of Douglas Arizona, or his son James S. Douglas (b. 1867 –  d. 1949) of the UVX mine.

Handwritten on back of photo: "Jim Douglas + Nora Wood 1878."
