Description

William H. Larkin was born in Buffalo, New York on June 17, 1860 - died in Prescott, Arizona on July 16, 1925. He married Sarah Searle, whose parents were Daniel and Sarah (Glazier) Searle. William Larkin was a stonemason and oversaw the quarrying of granite for the 1916 construction of the new Yavapai County Courthouse. Mr. Larkin had been in the granite business for fifteen years by 1916 and he stated that the granite being quarried for the courthouse was second to none in the United States. Information on back of photo states: "William H. Larkin. Prescott, Yavapai County Court House. Instigator of building Yavapai Court House out of native Yavapai Grey granite. Court house a couple of months after starting of construction." Burial Location: Odd Fellows Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona
