Clarence Spaulding (b.1876 - d.1952) was born on September 19, 1876 at the stage station in Agua Fria, Arizona. He was the son of Henry Spaulding, born in 1843 in Syracuse, New York and Annie Spaulding, born in 1851 in Tennessee. Clarence attended school in the mining town of Humboldt, Arizona. He was in charge of the Cameron Indian Garden Camp in the Grand Canyon in 1905. Clarence married Jennie Urqhart in Williams, Arizona in November, 1909. Clarence operated a restaurant in Mexico City during the Revolution (1910-1912). When he returned, Clarence operated a commissary in Stoddard, Arizona and a grocery store in Prescott before moving to Phoenix in 1925 where he managed a market. Clarence and his wife lived in Flagstaff, Arizona from 1927-1945 when they moved back to Phoenix and Clarence began working for Westinghouse until retiring in 1949.
Handwriting on photograph reads: "Tootsie" son of Henry Spaulding who ran stage station and post office in Agua Fria valley 1882, brother of Mrs. Ralph Cameron".
Clarence's sister, Ida, married Ralph Henry Cameron who was a U.S. Representative and U.S. Senator from Arizona.
Clarence died on November 23, 1952 in Phoenix and was buried in Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery there.
