Description

Gold and Copper Consolidated Mining and Milling Company, (Pickerel) Hassayampa District, Yavapai County, Arizona Territory, c. 1903.

The Pickerel Mine, aka the Gold & Copper Consolidated Mine, was a copper and gold property located in Yavapai County, Arizona at an elevation of 7,001 feet. It was in close proximity to Prescott, Arizona in the former Mount Union Mining District.

The mine's activities were accessed and conducted via underground shafts. The Pickerel was an all-in-one operation, with a stamp mill, amalgamation, concentration and cyanide capabilities and facilities.

This mining district is now encompassed within the boundaries of the Prescott National Forest. The Pickerel Gold Mine is inactive and there are no known future plans for its reopening.

Printing on the bottom border of the photograph says: “Gold & Copper Consolidated Mining and Milling CO. (Pickerel) Hassayampa District, 10 Stamp Mill, Amalgamation, Concentration and Cyanide.”
