Warren Dwight Baker (b. 1870 - d. 1941) was born Jan 30, 1870 in Michigan/died January 22, 1941 in Berkeley, California. He was the son of George Baker (b. 1828) and Harriet Haseltine (b. 1831). He secured his A.B. in 1893 and his M.A. in 1894 from the University of Michigan. While a resident of Prescott, Arizona, he married Corinne Ellen Smith (Stanford 1903) on June 26, 1906 in Flagstaff, Arizona. The Arizona Journal-Miner carried an article on August 7, 1908 announcing that Baker was the new leader of the city schools (meaning Prescott, Arizona). Yavapai Magazine, July 1916 carried a photograph of him with the caption: “Superintendent of Schools and Instructor of Latin and Greek in the High School.”
The back of the photograph carries the following handwritten information: "Warren D. Baker, Supt. of Prescott Public Schools. His transportation was a horse which he kept behind the Washington School. Prior to being Supt. he had a stable where the Post Office is today. "
